Be may be dead, but BeOS lives!

Just because the parent company has gone bust is no reason not to use the
OS.

I use BeOS almost daily, and I love it. It has many of the nice UI features
of a mac, and allows you a unixy command line when you need one (yes, I'm
a bit of a unix hacker too).

The OS will not be dead until people stop using it - and I see no reason
to do so.

If you have a x86 PC hanging around, give it a try. You can still
download the OS for free (eg. from
http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,7201,00.asp
and there is loads of free software available - see www.bebits.com.
