Hmm, I don't know how this got to the list, but as long as it has, let me expound on one of my favorite topics. First it's Vancouver, Washington although we're just across the Columbia R. from Portland, but we were here before there ever was a Portland or any settlers in Oregon.
As a matter of fact we existed long before that *other* Vancouver. We were the hub of the British Empire in the Pacific for quite a few years. So much for the history and geography lesson.
