Hello again, I give up with it. LEDs say it's OK. Various utilities see the drive and get allsorts of info from it. They will eject the tape etc.
Retrospect Express sees the drive but will not allow me to work with it. I don't think I've the correct version for using with tapes. They aren't mentioned anywhere. I've decided to swap the tape for a CDRW so if anyone wants to place an offer on an HP 35480a, 5 x 90m tapes (4 unopened), sled for mounting in a Q950 and front bezel that currently sits in Harlow, Essex, UK, feel free!
