Considering DSL is $50/month and usually has an install fee of about $100-200,
and cable modems are similarly priced, I think a lot of people would be happy
to pay the extra up front for the long-term savings.

T1s also have symmetric upload/download speeds, something DSL can't claim
unless you pay a LOT more for it ($150/month or so).
