I'm using a Performa 575, OS 7.5.3, and a 56k modem. Perhaps Navigator works better for you than me, but I found it very frustrating. Long waits for web pages to load is one of the least pleasurable things you can do with a computer. I have switched to iCab 2.8.1. It's not as demanding of resources and it is significantly more responsive than Navigator 4. One example is Apple's Older Software Downloads page. With Navigator it took 5.5 minutes to display the page. Worse it would then blank the page and do it all over again. That meant 11 minutes! to even see the page. Meanwhile, I couldn't do anything else. Not all sites were like that, but others were, and I just had to avoid them until I got iCab. I understand how you feel about parting with your system. I hope friend enjoys it as much as you have. jim -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
