"wondering about an ASC2 art maker..." There is a free plug-in for SuperPaint 3 that is available from the web: here is a link to the homepage. Click on "my programs" for several other useful plug-ins. I haven't tried using it with any other programs, yet (like FuturePaint, ColorIt!, or Photoshop) but it may be worth experimenting.
