The keyboard was plugged and unplugged only when the unit was powered off 
(Kyle burned that one into my head). But yes, it would be quite depressing if 
this was all caused by a bad keyboard and instead of using the 10 spares I've 
got now, I reused the bad keyboard which took out the second q950. Now you 
mentioned a fuse? If this computer does have one, where is it located? It 
sure as hell beats searching around the whole 1.5'x1.5' mobo with 2 prongs 
for a bad resistor

A depressing thought, but what if a bad keyboard/mouse killed the 1st 
board and then the 2nd? You did say you used the same ones at first.
IIRC there is some kind of ADB fuse that can be a victim of hot 
swapping.
