If you're referring to the Mac internal floppy - yes, they will work Ok.
If you mean modern external USB drives, or PC drives - no.

There are these floppy formats:

1) 400 kb, single-sided, GCR-coded,

2) 800 kb, double-sided, CGR-coded,

3) 1.44 Mb, double-sided, MFM-coded (Mac initialized), and

4) 1.44 Mb, double-sided, MFM-coded (PC initialized).

Starting with the Quadras, support for (1) was dropped.

Starting with the B&W G3, support for (2) and, hence (1), was dropped.
