Ports per say do not go out, but the connections can become loose from their solder joints from repeated tugging on the socket. This would cause an intermitent problem. It happens on portable CD players where the headphone jack gets plugged in/out alot. Open the keyboard and check to see if the wiring's integrity is still there. A quick touch on the connections with a soldering pencil will solve the problem most of the time.
