Physical size doesn't make much difference as long as you can still get the
SIMM angled in there properly.  Some SIMMs don't work due to clearance issues,
but most are fine.  Only way to find out is to try it.

They're the two slots that are shorter than the RAM :)

Grab the service manual from the links in the FAQ, which has all the common
takeaparts in it.

I've never once seen an adapter to put a hard disk in that bay, but with some
creative machining, it wouldn't be too difficult to fabricate one from
aluminium.

Check the manufacturer's WWW site - they usually have drive ID jumper
configuration charts, which vary from model to model.
