While they're a generally painful machine to completely pull apart, getting the drive(s) out is one of the easy parts! Under the front panel are two plastic 'tabs' that click into place on the metal chassis - if you get a large flathead screwdriver or a table knife in there to wedge them upwards, they'll release and the entire front comes off. The HD is just below the floppy drive, and may be behind a panel with one philips head screw holding it in place.
