the problem as I see it is that even a 486 running 98 cant run the modern crucial applications that dont have a simple equivilent on a quad. Sure you could prolly use it for Word and Excel but not new versions and you can get old versions on a quad or apple/claris works. Websurfing would work just as fine on a quad as it would on a quad with a dos card (maybe some of the newer macromedia plugins would work though) but its not even a full blown upgradeable PC so it somewhat defeats the purpose...

It ran, surprisingly okayishly. Upped the memory for 64 megs of RAM and used it for two years as a surfing station :) Just over this weekend I put it on my Toshiba Dynapad tablet PC (486/40) and once I get the memory up past 12 megs it'll be quite well.
