Yes, you can replace them one at a time, and your best bet is probably to
recell them rather than buy "new" "replacements" off eBay.  Any NiCd battery
that has sat unused for longer than about a year will be *very* difficult to
bring back to life.

If you're not up to the recelling yourself, check with your local Batteries
Plus or Battery Outlet.
