Also, what is J8 >used for (its on the back)? I have one here. It is a Centris/Quadra 650 board. I believe that J18 is a PDS slot. At least, there were a few Daystar upgrades that used that slot or that slot and a NuBus slot in conjunction. The local Goodwill store has what looks like an L2 cache card for that slot from Daystar for about $5. J11 is power into the motherboard. J17 is power out to the hard drive. J17 uses an odd little Apple cable with a plug for J17 at one end and a standard four pin power supply connector at the other end for drive devices. It shouldn't be hard to find though, because that cable goes back at least to the Mac IIci and probably further. J8 is the AAUI port which is for Ethernet. You need an AAUI to ? transceiver to convert the AAUI into 10bt, thinnet or thicknet. These days you can sometimes get folks to send you a transceiver for the cost of shipping. Otherwise they might go as high as $15. Back when, they were $40 or $50, I think. Or were they as high as $80? It's been so long. Asante and Farallon were probably the two most common brands.
