Hi All,
Have a Second hand Seagate 9 gb cheetah HD (ST39102LC), from a reputable source. Got the 80 to 50 pin adapter for my 660av (will need a smaller adapter, got to love the "compact" Pizza Box). Problem is I can't get anything to show on the computer. Startup chime - HD whirs up - grey screen and mouse icon (looking good) - waiting - waiting - waiting - and that's as far as it goes folks!!
Classic scsi problem. Check seagtes website for jumper setting
I've changed over to one of my (DEAD) HD's and the screen atleast graduates to disk and question mark. But with the Cheetah, not even that far. People in a word HELP!!!!!!. I've got a thesis to write and All that's going through my mind at the moment is how far I can through this thing!!!!
Got a disktools floppy to boot from? Need a link?
(STRESS IS A BIG PROBLEM AT THIS STAGE!!)
Its hard but try not to stress out, it will make the job harder.
