Pulling the battery while the unit has a mains connection is a self defeating test. In some cases (ppc is my only experience so far) the mains and battery should be removed for a time to completely clear some pram corruption..


Reassembled machine. Connected both hard drives. Tried a boot. Nothing but clicks and whirs.


I dont know what part of "pulled logic board" failed to registor in my mind while I wrote my reply.
Maybe something else in the reply is of some use.
