I bought 700 MHz eMac [17" CRT] with H-P scanner and Epson C42UX color printer package last winter for 700$ only to find out CD drive is read ONLY. Writer would be 200$ more and DVD/CD writer/reader goes for 499$ additional. I've cabled my eMac to 5400 All-In-One for data and program transfers. 5400/603e cost me 79$ from "Computer One" reseller. They advertise in Mac World if you want to try that route [gives you extra Mac for less than cost of Super Drive too!] Bought 10 GB HD to replace the 500 MB HD in 5400. Also bought Performa 6400/604e which has the awesome sounding startup sound coming out of the speaker in the bottom of the tower case. P-6400 cost 125$ but I forget which reseller company I got it from. Still have Mac Plus, Color Classic and Mac IIfx I started with way back in the misty obscured years of antiquity. Plus and Color Classic were given to me and IIfx [screamer for its time] cost 80$ used. -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
