Hi all.

I have a Performa 636 who's hard disk failed (finally). It had OS 7.5.3 on
it. I replaced it with the smallest IDE drive I had - a 13 GB Quantum
Fireball, but OS 7.5.x wouldn't initialize the drive successfully.

I just received a copy of MacOS 8.1, and I booted the CD and initialized the
drive and installed 8.1 onto a single standard 13 GB partition (the notes on
the CD say that 68k based Mac's can't start from a HFS+ partition).

When I remove the CD and reboot, I get a ? Mac - it can't find anything to
boot from. Does anybody have any ideas what I am doing wrong, or can point
me in the direction of what to do?

Thank you!

--> Russ
