try a google web search. i know i bought a refurb monitor from some company back east
a
few years ago and they do repair monitors and buy broken ones, but i just can't
remember
the name and i don't have easy access to my old emails currently. you definitely,
definitely want a shop that specializes in monitors, not a tv repair shop as monitors
are
a little harder and most tv/vcr shops i've seen aren't that good any way and may not
have
a proper way to test it when it's fixed. even if you can't get it fixed for that
price,
selling it to the refurb place would at least let you get some of your money back,
assuming it's at least 17", they don't generally take smaller monitors since it's
usually
not worth while. if it was sent insured, you might pursue that as well, as the
shipping
jolts probably did the damage and i don't think it would be immoral or fraudulent in
this
case, obviously you shouldn't abuse insurance but shipping can be hard on power
supplies etc.
