Anybody have an idea why a 575 won't boot a MacOS 8.1 CD? When I hold the C key down, it sees the disc, spins it for a few seconds, then ejects it and boots from the internal hard disk.
The internal hard disk has 7.1P6 on it, and I want to upgrade to the last version it can use, which is supposedly 8.1. If I insert the CD, and launch the "Upgrade to MacOS 8.1" or "Install MacOS 8.1" items, they come up and say "This program cannot run on your computer. See the documentation for more information". The docs, of course, say nothing about a 575. Any ideas? It has 12 MB of RAM, does 8.1 require more? I didn't see anything in the docs that said that...
