does this mean that the lists will all turn into some forum-like stuff and will stop working like standard maillists?

I hope not :-(

A lot of discussion activities have moved to web forum formats, which I am not fond of either. Some do retain the email type capabilities and I think Google groups does. Perhaps those of us that like will find new messages from people who like like a forum based messages.

At the age of our Macs forums or email probably serves more for camaraderie than for support. It has been a long time since I have had trouble with my Quadra 840. There remains things I wish with it though. With the way the internet is moving perhaps soon the old Quadras will be the last place where we have "local" data.
