Hi, There is no filesystem involved, the VTL has its own block manager which assigns blocks on disk for the next writes. The block manager does not do RAID, hence disks added to a pool need to be RAID protected. If a disk added to a storage pool is lost, then the entire pool will be affected.
The VTL does not work well with thin provisioned disks.
