The main discussion is around which is better, N-in-1 or 1-for-1?
While, many comments indicate the preference with support from only
experiences.
My question is: why not both?
I agree, I believe I said the same thing earlier,
Yeah, I think at this point it's just confusion and we're failing to
notice we're all agreeing :D
It's great that you plan to have both. :)
Anyway. This is why I started looking at RIB changes in the Cumulus
tree (and why I split up the multi instance stuff into patches) - I
wanted to get an overview of what other RIB changes are on the horizon.
I would like to do a block of RIB changes:
- IPv6 ECMP
- VRFs
- nexthop tracking
- multi-instance
- redist-table
- route tags
- sourcedest
- MRIB
We may have to split this up in 2 blocks ;)
Would you please share your schedule for these merges? So that I start
updating the VRF patches as earlier as I can. I'll have other features
to send related to VRF, but I can wait in order to avoid overloading
the your list. Moreover, I already need to rework them/rebase them so
I prefer to wait for the first Cumulus+6WIND series to be merged.
And is there any help on the merge I can do? If yes, feel free to ask.
Thanks and best regards,
Feng Lu
