Hello Donald
Thanks for the note.
Can you add me for the next meeting ? I would follow the next call
conference (not sure to be available each time, but I book the slot in
my agenda). I need to check how to reach google hangout session due to
our internal restriction to access Google service. BTW, I could also
provide some facilities (international bridge and sharing tools).
From Orange Labs side, we are interested by contributing to Quagga on
Traffic Engineering: submitted patch for ISIS and OSPF, on-going one for
BGP-LS and plan for 2016 to implement Segment Routing as well as PCC, in
the scope of SDN PCE based solution. But, we are also interested in
Quagga as a whole for standard routing function in the scope of SDN/NFV
evolution.
Regards,
Olivier

Thanks for attending everyone! Here are some notes:
Attendees:
Martin, Vincent, Paul, Donald, Daniel, Don, Jafar, Michael, Balaji,
Kei, David Bond
Goals - monthly meeting on Quagga plans
Maintainer's status
Contributors issues
When's the next release:
Paul Jakma
Nack on zserve fix from 6winds for vrf registration
Want's some additional testing from 6wind, going to send
patch.
Donald asked to have patch sent to him as well.
Fix OSPF issues seen
Call for latest patches - sharpd sending email
Static analysis results from Martin?
Need to make patches pass?
60-70 warning/errors on current branch
Comment "won't fix" for errors in the code for ones evaluated?
Use Travis-ci for static analysis?
Michael sending to list about this suggestion
Donald and Martin to work to figure out how to mark bogus
errors as bogus to see if we want to go down that route.
Unit test requirements:
Openswitch has framework for testing that might suffice
Blackbox unit testing - mini-net?
Vincent - project to do Quagga testing?
Daniel - once upstream quagga closer to ours, we could use our
test suites to evaluate upstream patches, Cumulus is working on a way
to run patches against internal tests. Michael asked for an overview
of what is tested in Cumulus
Agreement - need more unit testing and multiple people have
ideas on how best to do it
Talk to Martin with ideas
Major projects in the works:
Donald - PIM SM support - Balaji asked to expose PIM-SM code. Donald
Will work on that.
Vipin - VRF based on kernel VRF support
Vivek - MPLS with static labels, maybe bgp labels
Vincent - was planning on BGP extensions for L3VPNs - overlaps with
Vipin's and Lou Bergers work? Vipin talking to Lou about it
Paul - Need high level design discussion about how instances will
communicate with each other?
Unclear on impact of quagga for the requirements of each VPN solution
Donald will discuss it with Vipin and Vivek to write up something for
the quagga-dev
Jafar - project in mind - multiple COS metrics for OSPF - single
instance instead of multiple instances
Multiple trees with multiple routing tables
Not sure if feasible, but researching
Daniel - add-path, json, update-groups, cli cleanup (no supported)
Balaji - BGP dampening bug, link state distribution via node-level
NRLI updates
Sent pointer to Juniper doc on it
Learn complete data center topology similar to OSPF
Quagga, net not working? may now be fixed
Documentation requirements for new features/commands?
Currently missing but should be necessary
Someone with good documentation donate to the community?
Paul - easier configuration? Discussions but no work yet
On going Quagga monthly meeting on 3rd tuesday of month. If you want
to be invited drop Donald a line. If you have a topic of discussion
please contact Donald as well.
If I've missed anything, please feel free to add it here.
Thanks to Don Slice for taking the notes and kindly sharing with me.
