Updating the Oracle Solaris kernel may be a possibility, if I could get a spec on what the API should look like. But I thought there was a Quagga dev branch that already was updated to work with Solaris. That was my understanding and I have been eagerly waiting for it to merge with the main branch. Paul, you may remember that we talked about that last October. Or perhaps that is the patch we are discussing now?
I think you're referring to work David did? That was merged in last year yes.
In any case, we are eager to see Quagga build on Solaris again, as you may well guess. Is there anything I can do to expedite that process?
I tried a year or so ago to run OpenSolaris on Qemu 2.0 / libvirt but had issues. So I couldn't directly test the build on OSOL. I can't remember if I had tried Oracle Solaris 11. So for me, making sure Solaris works well across a range of VM technologies - and Qemu/KVM 2.0 especially - is what'd help me (and probably others) the most.
I think Martin Winter of NetDEF has an IllumOS VM in the mix for the CI testing that he does on Quagga at various points, which is really useful. AFAIK that means we do build on IllumOS and so also on Solaris?
