At today's JCP EC meeting I learned about the Quality Outreach program. You may be aware of an issue regrading the deprecation of the Security Manager as part of JEP 411 caused NetBeans some grief, since temporarily resolved. I suggested on the NetBeans mailing list that they, or which I have a small part, should join this outreach. Within seconds Geertjan Wielenga, the Apache NetBeans PMC Chair, asked me to begin the process of having NetBeans join as an Outreach member. So, how do we become project #162?
