I've had a play with the old cable. When it's straight, it's fine.
When it's got a one-eighty bend in it it's taking lessons from Charles
Atlas... and that's without any sort of load on the far end. I'll try
a proper ford part tomorrow and try and route to avoid any heat
sources. Tricky though, the connection from the carb points straight
out over the cam cover and sooner or later it's going to get to the
hot bits...
