Thanks very much for the link, i'll be sure to read that when I get a moment. Been looking for something in laymans terms.
I've around 250bhp and 260 ft/lbs torque and torque steer has to be treated with respect. Even with 140 bhp zetec it was apparent. Wouldn't change it tho, it never fails to scare the passenger :-) matthew -----Original Message----- From: ROBERT CRAIG <bobbycrai...@tiscali.co.uk> Sent: 28 December 2008 11:54 To: quantumowners@googlegroups.com Subject: [Quantum Owners] Re: Out to play Torque steer is not a huge problem for me as I am still running almost standard XR2 stuff with 60 profile 14" wheels. May be worse once I eventually get round to changing the cam and fitting the twin DCNFs and free flow exhaust. I found a good article by Dave Coleman on the mini forum which explains torque steer in almost laymans terms. http://www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=49272&mode=threaded Basically, the more work you do to your car to improve power and handling, the worse the torque steer will be. Manufacturers have spent millions trying to reduce it. Will be interesting to see how the new Focus RS copes with it --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
