Been looking for something in laymans terms.

I've around 250bhp and 260 ft/lbs torque and torque steer has to be treated 
with respect.  Even with 140 bhp zetec it was apparent.  Wouldn't change it 
tho, it never fails to scare the passenger :-)

Torque steer is not a huge problem for me as I am still running almost 
standard XR2 stuff with 60 profile 14" wheels. May be worse once I 
eventually get round to changing the cam and fitting the twin DCNFs and free

explains torque steer in almost laymans terms.

Basically, the more work you do to your car to improve power and handling, 
the worse the torque steer will be. Manufacturers have spent millions trying 
to reduce it. Will be interesting to see how the new Focus RS copes with it
