I recall that the re-builder spent a lot of time on the former QOC forum  and 
became a member of QOC. He also attended at least one Stoneleigh  meeting.  
When he took on the project for his son he delayed building a  Robin Hood kit 
which he had bought for himself.
 
I too feel that it was a mistake to advertise it without an MOT
 
The small engine should not be a turn-off either. I seem to recall that one  
of our members covered over 200 000 miles in a coupe with either a 1.1 or 1.2  
litre engine which was quite capable of speeds that might cause you to lose 
your  driving licence in the UK.
