Yes, the webbing, sounds like the same problem as yours on the rear 
seat, i've fitted Mk5 Escort seats.
Much fun reshaping the interior trim next to the rear seat to match it's 
shape.
I've sure i tried a Mk5 Escort one though and it's still too short.
