I saw that too, but then on the Direct.gov website it states that you have to display the previous tax disc in the window, which I don't have.. looks like it's fallen out somewhere along the line.
The last clause is a little curious.. "made before the current SORN expires" - the SORN expires after 12 months or as soon as a valid tax disc has been purchased according to the leaflet I got through the post with the SORN acknowledgement.
