Surely that information would be restricted under the DPA also? It is quite likely that people use the Data Protection Act in the same way as the Health and Safety Legislation invoking it when they don't want do something (or maybe anything). I think it unlikely that the DPA would cover data about cars that a person had once owned and may not even cover details of cars that are presently owned. Maybe someone can check this out.
