My dads managed to get unlimited mileage with adrian flux on the other
Q for £80, i tried getting a quote and it was more expensive for the
exact same policy with them

During the ten years plus that I have had Q's I have always had a full
(multi year) no claim bonus. I have been insured with Adrian Flux for all but
about 6 months of this time and have insured a turbo coupe, a 2 +2 with
CVH and an H4 turbo, at various times (and sometimes insuring two of them at
the same time). I cannot ever recall paying less than £100, even with some
mileage limits.

Agreed value - In my time with the club I can only recall hearing about
one claim over agreed value that was disputed. The vehicle in question had
been stolen by joy riders and torched. The broker tried to settle the claim
on the basis of an average value for a quantum 2+2 of a similar age claiming
that the value on the policy had not been agreed. Eventually the insurer,
NIG, said that although they would not have offered an agreed value policy
because the insured had thought that an agreement had been reached they
would make an ex gratia payment to bridge the gap between the insurance
settlement and what the insured had expected.

The circumstances were somewhat exceptional. The kit had been a 17th
birthday present, the builder was apprenticed to a BMW garage, and in her final

year had won the national 'Apprentice of the Year award. She had attended
several club events and there were club committee members who were prepared
to vouch for the build quality.

Another club member had his car destroyed in a fire at a vehicle
customiser's workshop. where the car was being modified, or had been modified.
I
understand that a satisfactory settlement was achieved by the car owner.
