I tried Camberley Auto Factors, they were the first that told me that QH had discontinued the cable. MPD in Wokingham say they have a couple of places to try. They also said that QH had stopped making it but they may be able to find some old stock.... I have been given the number of a place in Cardiff that will manufacture one if you send them the old one.... sound expensive to me. I used to go gliding and we spent many hours sitting on the airfield splicing broken winch cables, I am trying that with the old cable now. Will see if it works.
