I re-fitted the rear screen on our saloon yesterday. Used one of the
Masterbond kits from Wayside Adhesives.

Andy was right about the lack of bond to the glass. The old adhesive
was fine, but it was attached to the paint, which had detached from
the glass. The screen just lifted out, which would have been
interesting if it had happened at speed!

I masked the screen as described in the build manual, then etched it
with my sandblaster gun (cheap Clarke job from Machine Mart). Kit
comes with glass primer, then black primer, both of which go off in a
couple of minutes.

Was careful to mask off the heated screen elements, but not sure if
they will have survived the masking tape.

Kit was fine. Easy to use, and ample to do the one screen. My advice
is to cover absolutely everything apart from the screen aperture,
though. I didn't and spent ages cleaning up!

Gave up on the trim, and just used a fillet of the adhesive. Side
windows don't have trims in any case.

Dave.
