bit of a situation, tried to torque the tie mount to chassis bolts yesterday and have distorted the upper face of the chassis tube, the lower section is less bad but the upper portion is dished inwards despite using thick washers on top
this is despite using the torque setting used on the fiesta ive now purchased some 5mm thick plate washers that should prevent further distortion on the rest but how can I straighten it out? ive thought so far of using a drift and hammer underneath or using a blind sleeve anchor bolt to grip it and pull back out, any more ideas, also is there a better way to stop this happening full stop? ideally it would have had a tube welded inside to prevent this but I don't fancy going down this route as it will involve stripping the car back down some degree, I did think of opening up the upper hole to accept a tube pushed in to bear against the inside of the lower hole with the tube protruding just slightly from the upper face for the bolt to bear down on. any help gratefully received -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
