Hi all, My 2+2 is fitted with a Texalarm system which unlocks the car via a keyfob but unfortunately the little keyring loop on the keyfob has broken so it no longer stays attached to my keys. I'm so paranoid about losing it (and leaving myself stranded) that I'm currently checking it's still there dozens of times a day...
Inside it's just a very tiny circuit board so although I did a quick google for a replacement outer shell for it (which came up with nothing useful) I started thinking perhaps there might be a better solution. I've found a website called 'Shapeways' (www.shapeways.com) which suggests that they can make pretty much anything, in a variety of materials, based on plans you submit online. I don't have the technical wizardry to do that but it did make me wonder if any of you fine folks either know how to create such plans, or if you know of another way to get something made. I quite like the idea of a polished metal keyfob, perhaps with the Quantum logo as the lock/unlock button, into which I pop my little Texalarm circuit board. Any ideas, folks?
