When I first got the car I thought that it was only fibreglass and was a little worried as I have had only one road crash in my driving career which dates from 1968 but it was my first kit car (pinto'd Autotune Gemini) and the spaceframe stood up well to a head on! Never mind though as I had put a Dolly Sprint lump in when I fisrt built it but changed to the Ford and boy was it slower. However looking at how thick the glass is and the fact that it has a roll bar I am not too bothered now, coupled to the fact that I have past 60 years old now so who cares.
A lotus Elan scares me because there is no side protection whatsoever.
Had a look at my Quantum plate and mine is 143 and for some strange reason an Irish reg plate.

Cheers Jon "I am not a number" Jackson.

I met the owner/driver/builder of that car, he reckoned his only
injury was bumping his head when he undid the seatbelt while upside
down.

The car itself was repaired by Quantum (new shell due to the roof
damage) - and did sterling service as a daily driver for many years.
And hopefully will do so again, once I get this pesky Endura fitted
into it.  =o)

Going for another trial engine fitment tomorrow: last one showed that
the oil pump and inlet manifold mods were successful. Crank pulley is
almost there, but still a bit close for comfort.

No horror stories that I've heard of, but big crashes, yes;

I've heard about quite a few Quantums that have been in big accidents and
the passengers usually walked away, as the cars stand up well to big
impacts, sometimes even police in attendance are surprised and comment that
the crash might have been fatal in the original donor car.
