I've seen a figure on the 'net quoting 130ft/lb of torque, no idea if this is accurate. In the Focus estate the 1.8 litre Endura di t/d is quoted as 90 bhp at 4000 rpm and 200 Nm @2000 rpm For comparison the 2.0 litre Zetec E gasoline engine with a cat converter is rated at 178 Nm @ 4500 rpm The Focus t/d can climb a 1 in 5 gradient (slowly) on tick over approx 850 rpm.
