I'd argue that thesis, Dave... but then, I would, wouldn't I? Of my
coupe, which I've owned seventeen years from new, there are fewer than
two hundred on the road. Though I have never been aware of a
definition of 'classic' that all can agree on. I'd also argue that the
Fiat is an easier car to work on than most kits, whether you're the
original builder or not. There's nothing beyond the abilities of a
reasonable home mechanic on either car, and at least the Fiat has the
manufacturor's manuals available... when I tried to work on my Quantum
before I squeezed the Fiat engine in there, I found that while the
mechanics were simple the wiring was both different from the original
in gross and in detail, and incidentally had been butchered - badly -
on more than one occasion. There was one fault I was unable to
localise until I stripped out the entire front of the wiring loom.

What I do know - being a moderator on the FCCUK forum - is how much
work went into that article from the mod team, to get the details
right (and one or two still sneaked through!). If we're going to try
and get that sort of coverage for any of the Quantums, we'll need to
be prepared to put a lot of effort in.
