That same model car was getting not much more than half that only 5 years ago and was slower too. Matt are you comparing like with like. Are you saying that the government test based figures for the 2007 BMW 5 series were only in the mid twenties. Is it possible that you might be comparing real life experience figures for the older car with the somewhat idealised economy figures quoted in sales literature based on the government test figures.
