On the donor car there are a couple of earths that connect to a self
tapping screw on the column bracket and earth through the bracket to
bulkhead.
I guess the idea of earthing the column is so that these earths can be
left as they are rather then extending them back to the common earth.
On my 2+2 i earthed the engine frame, the steel sections inside both
sills and the steering column bracket together with 4mm cable.
Then i only needed to extended the various earth's to meet somewhere on
those parts.

hi all

one thing ive noticed in the build book is the suggestion of putting
an earth wire to the upper steering column bracket, whats that about
then?
ive had the column removed and there was no such earth conection on
mine, id say mine is pretty insulated from any current, so why is this
suggested, is it because its needed or is it because one day you may
want to run something to or from it?
please help :-)
