 a breathalyser is only good for that moment in time.
 
A friend of mine was stopped by the police in Chelsea one evening,  
breathalysed, and got a clear reading. He asked the policeman if he was OK to  
drive to his home some 25 miles away, 'I have no idea Sir' was the response.'  
You told me you had a drink with your meal this evening, you could be over 
the  limit by the time you get there'
