to be clear

the hazard switch has to be held down.

if it is up even 1 or 2  mm leaves both the hazard off and the
indicators not working.

on mine the plastic where there is a little metal hook has worn so it
lets the switch raise up a mm. I have to wedge it down with a bit of
matchstick.
