Not got a part number but the Mk3 one will fit ok.
The only thing you might need to check/modify is the heatshield, if there is one fitted currently.

Subject: [Quantum Owners] Starter Motor

Happy Christmas all,

Anyone got the part number for the diesel starter motor to fit the CVH as recommended by many members?

My 2 litre needs a new one and that would seem to be the best option to crank it over efficiently. My local motor factor is only listing the Mk3 units (1989 on) and has two. One has quite a bit more power 2.1KW v 1.7KW and they are both £150. They both have the same number of teeth and the more powerful is listed as 1 mm longer.

I recall the engine and many parts are the same into the Mk 3. So I assume there is no difference in the Mk2 and the Mk 3 starter motors and the more powerful one is the one to go for. Anyone know for certain? Or any advice/comments?

I did notice my 2+2 with the standard 1600CVH is not cranking as well as before so maybe 2013 is the year of the starter motor in the Chinese style Quantum Calendar!

So Happy New Year as well.

Derek
