Now there’s a conflict. I know the early hardtop used the Escort screen as i took it out of a Escort soft top.
I wonder, as i think both the Escort Cabriolet and the Golf Cabriolet were made (converted) by Karmann, maybe Karmann used the same screen for them both. Just a thought. I also have a vague recollection that the rubber used wasn’t the Escort one so that may be adding to the confusion. Probably because the glass on the Escort was mounted into a very thick frame.
