Well wife Diane and I had our last track day with our Quantum 2+2 RST and it
was a cracker at Goodwood a week ago.
We take it in turns to do a stint behind the wheel and I smile as Diane is a
driving instructor and I wonder what her pupils would think of her 100 mph
speeds.
Back in the summer I got hold of an Ebay bargain set of alloys shod with Toyo
888's and Hankook ventus R152 and these get really sticky after a lap, helping
us to be without doubt the quickest there. I had to laugh as we were mistaken
for an MX5.
After having the alarm/imobiliser removed I am happy as it was a nightmare.
I was getting in excess of 110 mph on Lavant and before St Mary's with minimal
braking the car is performing so much better than when I got it 4 years ago.
The one thing I do find is the fact that it reaches 110 easily but seems to hit
a stop and I dont know why as my old TR5 would hit 125 mph down Lavant.
Should I give it to an expert on these engines? If so who? The other shock is
the approx 10 mpg on track!!! Oh well its not every day its thrashed because
normally its 28 mpg.
It now sits in the drive till April 2014.
