Update.......... It wasn't too exhausting (pun intended) getting the old one off - Copper grease and copper coated nuts do seem effective as it's been on 5 years. The new one is labeled Euroflo. Put the new one alongside the old and interestingly it was a similar shape (I had welded the old genuine Ford one to give it clearance). So without any alterations I put the new one in place for a trial, to find it was a good fit. So was the Ford one an incorrect shape? I recall a Which Kit Quantum Saloon build where Gerry Hawkridge (of Hawk Cars) had to put a bend in the pipe to get a good fit .................. Apart from the better fit, the only difference is that the silencer box is about 10% smaller, and it does sound a bit louder unfortunately, however this may improve once it's 'sooted up' a little.
Maybe the aftermarket are making them to fit Quantums ?? Martin -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
