Chris F - I could see no way to remove the remote in situ, (if you did you must be a magician!) so I ended up cutting the rubber on the rear gearbox mount, which was looking a bit ropey anyway, I then levered the box over the remaining rubber lip, undid the bellhousing bolts, they are nice too, 2 of which you can't get a socket over!, then gearbox back down the tunnel, separate the 2 and just get the engine out. getting it back in will be fun ! but that is a while off yet. And definiatly not something I will be doing in the dark by myself!
