Does anyone have a clue what I'd be looking for regarding the following problem? On idle, the engine rpm will vary between 500-2500 rpm. It starts as a small bandwith, say1000-1100 rpm, but when the engine gets warmer, the bandwith increases to the above mentioned. Then it's a pig to drive! Giving it a little throttle, dampens the variation. But when cruising under 2500 rpm, the engine will start rocking like a rocking horse! Increasing rpm giving it more throttle or pressing the clutch gets it out of oscillation again. Pulling the plug of the bypassvalve makes it more drivable, but rpm is very low when cold. Runs very smooth and reacts very responsive yet docile on the throttle.( above 2500 rpm).
Some history: ran the engine on a XR2i (8v) ecu for a few years, ran reasonably ok, bit rich. Now i acquired an original RS1800 ecu , ran the learnsequence as per Haynes manual, like base rpm @700rpm, then -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
